Amy K. Nichols was born in Germany (back before the wall came down), but spent her formative years in the suburbs of Phoenix, AZ. From early on, she was a voracious reader. In fifth grade she read her favorite book, The Outsiders, thirteen times. (She really loved that book.) It was only later in life she realized there were authors behind the books she enjoyed, real people who told stories for a living. After earning her M.A. in English Literature and working as a tech writer, Amy decided to make a career out of her love of storytelling. She published a number of short stories before taking a stab at novels, and soon discovered a deep passion for writing for young adults. Amy is an avid Doctor Who and Sherlock fan, a lover of all things quirky and offbeat, and has a penchant for learning new things. She married a viking, and lives with him and their two children on the edge of the desert in Peoria, AZ.
Amy's first novel, ANOTHER HERE, ANOTHER NOW, (Knopf, Fall 2014) is a he-said/she-said sci-fi thriller told in the alternating voices of Danny, a street-smart graffiti artist who is jolted into a parallel world, and Eevee, the quietly alluring science geek he kissed once in his world, and finds himself falling for in this one. Together they must figure out what caused Danny's jump before another jolt in the space-time continuum leaves them back at square one. Book II (Spring 2015) flips this story on its head, mirroring ANOTHER HERE, ANOTHER NOW by telling the tale of the alternate Danny and the alternate Eevee.
